In a weird, AI-world, it’s refreshing to meet a good human.
Refreshing is really just the way to describe it. In a world where everything is increasingly “enshittified,” meeting a good human just hits different these days.
A recent interaction where someone was super genuine, super kind to me reminded me of this passage from Luke 14:
“Then Jesus said to his host, ‘When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.’”
God, let me be kind like that and not just help the people I know can get me back later with a future favor.
